Seriously romantic vibes
Consider these two different scenarios. At the first, you’re getting married in a huge hotel, there are non-wedding guests milling about and so your areas of access are limited. Your guest list has spiralled and there are people at your wedding who you barely recognise.
In the second scenario, you have the entire venue to yourself, decorated as you see fit. When you look into the crowd of faces you feel genuinely heart warmed as your eyes skim along each of your carefully chosen guests. We’re not saying you can’t have a romantic wedding at a huge hotel with hundreds of guests, but it’s probably easier to achieve an intimate vibe with a smaller venue and fewer guests.

Speaking of guests, if you choose a smaller wedding venue it usually means you choose a smaller guest list. This means you get to exchange vows in front of the people you care about most in the world. And later on? You get to party with them too! So instead of having to make small talk with your great aunt once removed that you’ve only met once in your life, you get to spend quality time with only your absolute nearest and dearest.
The memories and photographs from your special day will have such meaning behind them and you’ll be able to think back on the day fondly forever – as opposed to squinting at your photographs trying to work out who that man third from the back row is.
Save money for other adventures
The average cost of a UK wedding is now £17,913. Is it just us or is that figure crazy? Fortunately, in many instances a smaller venue – and an edited guest list – means less expense.
