Risk Assessment for Wedding Ceremonies at Lower Barns – From July 2nd 2021
All wedding attendees will be asked to inform Lower Barns if they are displaying any symptoms or have been in close proximity with any person displaying symptoms of Covid 19 in the past 14 days.
In the event of either of these, the couple will be asked to make arrangements to postpone their wedding ceremony before arriving at the venue.
All ceremony and guest rooms, along with public communal areas will be cleaned before and after each wedding party in line with current government legislation and guidance.
Hand sanitiser will be available upon arrival for all persons visiting Lower Barns.
A distance of 2 metres will be kept between all different parties, including between Lower Barns team, Registrars and also between visiting guests from different households in accordance with current social distancing guidelines. Clarification of social distancing is given during the meet and great Lower Barns induction given for all guests.
On arrival, the Registrars will be met by one of the owners of Lower Barns and taken to the relevant ceremony area within the Garden for out-side weddings
The Bride and Groom will be called separately to the Ceremony room in order to be interviewed by the Registrars.
The Bride and Groom will stand at least 2 metres away from the Registrars at all times throughout their ceremony within the outside space for their wedding.
The outside Garden wedding ceremony will be laid out so as to ensure a distance of 2 metres will be kept between all parties not from the same household.
Main Garden – stone paths leading to sitting area on lawn. Max 20 guests, 2 Registrars, photographer, Mike and myself as well as one member of staff all socially distance from one another, Guest and Registrars. Lower Barns management seating layout is pre arranged and set out prior to the ceremony ensuring 2 metre social distances guidelines are adhered to between relevant parties.
Registrars arrival to main car park then walk through to garden to ceremony room to interview wedding couples separately.
Access will be for all Guests staying at Lower Barns from their rooms to walk into main garden over stone paths to their sitting area on the lawn. Socially distance if they are not within the family bubble of 2 metres.
Wedding couple throughout their wedding ceremony will be 2 meters from Registrars at all times.
Wedding couple and two witnesses will be asked to sign the wedding registry within the Shack.
Witness must wear masks within this space, and stay socially distanced from the Registrars.

Two meter distance between couple and Registrar at all times. Wedding couples stand infant of chairs set outside. This ensures correct social distancing between wedding couple and Registrars team.
Guest will be asked to stay within their seats until Registrars have performed the ceremony and left Lower Barns.

The wedding couple and guests will have their own rooms and toilet facilities.
The registrars will have their own separate toilet facilities which will not be used by the wedding couple or other guests.
Windows and Doors will be open where possible to maximise ventilation.
If the in-house photographer is acting as a witness he will not be moving around whilst the Ceremony is being conducted.
External photographers will not be allowed within the Ceremony room if the Registrar does not want them within the room. If allowed they will be at all times 2 meters away from any-one and not allowed to move around until after the Ceremony has been completed.
