So their search begins with a glass of wine, crisps and their computer. First stop small, intimate venues as they only wanted to bring their nearest and dearest family and friends. They chose Cornwall as they love its coastline and space and so wanted to have some photos on the beach and cliff tops. Hoping for blue sky and the light, you hear everyone talking about, if you’ve ever visited this party of the countryside. Where to start, of course Google search wwww.lowerbarnswedding.co.uk pops out of the screen with its vibrant colours, amazing grounds and Party Shed, luxury rooms with hot tubs and saunas.
“Think we need to call make a date and pack a suitcase. Off to we go to Cornwall with so many questions for Janie and Mike. Google Maps a must have these days. Straight to a country lane filled with wild gypsophila and pink campions, we trundle down the lane in search of maybe our perfect wedding venue place. It wowed us straight away with its own individual, quirky style and design and so much love Janie and Mike will share with you. They have put half their life into making this place and the evidence just oozes colour, style and buzzes with love and energy. Everything was said and booked into the diary for 11th April 2018 – it was as easy as that. Only thing we had to think about was who we where going to take as their nearest and dearest. “Ok” and the outfits, shoes, etc! Bring your own booze is fab and you only pay a small corkage fee.”
Colours for the wedding Blue and Orange will blend in a treat. Marta’s mum would do the flowers. “We asked Mike for the in-house photographer package. He was more than happy to capture our day and take us to the beach for more intimate photos.. Vault beach had been voted one of the worlds top 10 beaches. Vault didn’t disappoint at all. What a view, beach and cliff top experience. South facing coastal location about 20 min drive away from Lower Barns.
We arrive with everyone in tow and car’s filled with wedding stuff. Cake and a glass of whatever took our fancy in the Party Shed. Catching up with old friends, family and discussing the day ahead of us 11th April until we say “we do”.”
Sunshine day, not a cloud to be seen. Breakfast, make-up and hair for the girlies and hot tub for the boys, or were we supposed to be doing something!! Where was that list Marta had made for everyone.
Marta’s family where from Poland. So without any one knowing Antony’s dad had taken himself off to night school to learn the language. So for his Dad’s welcoming speech to Marta’s family he could speak in their native tongue. Not a dry eye in the house. The love and thought gone into this just added to this magical day spent with these guys.
Food was cooked by the wonderful https://www.angelsinthekitchen.co.uk starters of lamb koftas, mackerel and asparagus with parma ham followed by lamb shanks, fish of the day.
Fed and watered with the warm sun setting it was time to play some music and games in the Party Shed.
Marta and Anthony where looking for a small intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest as they where honeymooning and climbing Kilimanjaro in Africa but wanted somewhere equally as exciting and different for their wedding venue and I think they found it with us in Cornwall. I’m sure they will return one day to say hello but for now it’s happy ever after.
