Liver Birds Jen & Claire’s elopement wedding to Cornwall. 

“Where shall I start with these 2 Liverpool beauties.” I met Jen and Claire a year ago now. They had decided after being together a long time and not wanting a fuss that they would fly to Cornwall to say “I do” with both sets of parents, who had never met before now. However, you wouldn’t have thought this as from the moment they rolled into Lower Barns the house was filled with laughter, wine and stories of their little girls growing up into wonderful, soulful people.

There is a shyness about Claire but also a playfulness which was so endearing and wonderful to see on her wedding day. Claire had brought her dream catchers, bunting and gin bar. Jen was smiling the whole time at Claire, and both savoured their love for each other, looking to their days ahead and adventures they were about to journey in to. They had bohemian styled dresses and light makeup from the amazing Suzi Winters, which just added to their sparkle. The path leading to The Shack was filled with autumnal colours which come with winter approaching this Cornish coastline and countryside. The flowers were from Juliet Gould of Cornish Farm Flowers.

With beautiful skies over The Shack, the girls shared their commitment and love for each other, which was followed by canapés, bubbles and family celebrations. Off to the beach they trot with Mike on photo duty. Like a playground filled with sand, sea and rockspools, Claire and Jen kicked off their shoes and indulged their toes to freedom, sealing their love with salty kisses.

I feel very privileged to share so many same-sex weddings to humanist blessings at Lower Barns. Like many adventures in life every wedding has its own story and surprise.
