Weddings – big, traditional weddings – can be heavy on the wallet. But here at Lower Barns you elope on your wedding day for just £799, and have a 2 night stayover, including our legendary breakfast delivered to your luxury suite, with private garden and hot tub.

Why elope?

• You’ll save money: In general wedding terms, guests = money. With just the two of you, there are less people to accommodate, feed and entertain.
• It’s romantic: What could be sweeter than running off to elope with your lover? Exactly! With the added romance of it being in wintery Cornwall.
• Nice and simple: Ever wondered why some otherwise wonderful people turn into a bridezilla or groomzilla when the wedding planning commences? Planning a big event is stressful! Keep things simple with a wedding day for two.

What is a Cream Tea Elopement Wedding?

You’ll spend two nights relaxing at Lower Barns: the night before and after your elopement. On the morning of the ceremony, you’ll be treated to a hearty breakfast served either in the dining room or delivered to your room.

If the weather is playing ball, you can hold your ceremony al fresco in The Wed Shed or, for a cosy, wintery vibe, say ‘I do’ by candlelight in The Shack. If it’s just the two of you, we’ll happily be your witnesses. Once you’ve exchanged vows, most couples choose to spend some time with their photographer. You can use our in-house photographer, Mike, if you’d like. He’ll take your photos which you’ll be given on a USB stick for £500.

Once you’re wed and photographed, it’s time to be fed. You can enjoy your decadent cream tea in your room or the garden – whichever takes your fancy. If you feel like something more later on, you can book a two-course private dining wedding feast for £50 each. Oh, and feel free to bring along your own booze!

What’s the upgrade?

We’re putting on a special offer upgrade for all Cream Tea Elopement Weddings for two! When you book a cream tea wedding package for two with us from now until 2nd April 2017, you and your partner will be upgraded to either Nook or Cranny.
Both Nook and Cranny are beautifully designed and feature a king-sized bed and gorgeous bathroom. Oh and with their own private gardens and hot tubs and we’ll even deliver breakfast to your room too! How’s that for star treatment? Nook has a sauna and Cranny has a wood burner.
