Being part of a network of small businesses is important to us; it’s part of how we have grown Lower Barns. Knowing the people behind the businesses around us is not only fun and friendly but efficient and effective too.
Offering guests the opportunity to get married at Lower Barns has opened up a whole new world of people to work with, and it’s been super exciting to hook up with Anna, from Anna’s Flower Barn, who I knew in ‘another time of our lives’. Anna trained as a florist in the late 80’s when more traditional weddings were in fashion and over the years has softened her style to a relaxed fusion of country flowers, looser arranging and a more innovative approach in line with the less formal ceremonies couples are enjoying right now.
Hidden away in the heart of rural Cornwall, Anna’s Flower Barn combines her passion and creativity for all things floral, with a unique environment, offering a continuous source of inspiration. Once a rustic log store, she recently transformed her barn into a florist’s haven where every shelf, dresser-draw and bench is brimming with flower pots, jugs, glassware, raffia, ribbons, candelabras and baskets.
Anna’s Barn doors are always open for brides to spend some relaxed time over a coffee, chatting through their ideas.
The Flower Barn has given Anna the perfect space to really set the scene for a Cornish wedding. Together we can mock up centrepieces and garlands, referring to Anna’s extensive portfolio of images and collection of tableware which are on hand for further inspiration.
Anna understands that no two weddings are the same. With years of experience and a keen eye on the latest trends she can work alongside brides during the planning stages from the initial ‘will you?’ to the final ‘I do’s’ ensuring a very bespoke and personal service.
In Anna’s words “From a simple Cornish country setting of daisy filled jam jars to beautiful pedestals alongside the altar, a shabby chic wedding with a vintage twist or a cool coastal celebration, whatever the palette, style or theme I enjoy the challenge and variety of each individual wedding and being part of your memorable day, Anna x ”.
